The Civil War Era
CIVIL WAR era genres and styles:
- PERSONAL NARRATIVE : a factual story told in first person.
- NOVELS: a fictitious prose narrative of book length, typically representing character and action with some degree of realism.
- POEMS: a piece of writing that partakes of the nature of both speech and song that is nearly always rhythmical, usually metaphorical, and often exhibits such formal elements as meter, rhyme, and stanzaic structure
- Letters:a character representing one or more of the sounds used in speech; any of the symbols of an alphabet.
